It's only in the past year that Samsung has (handily) outpaced Apple
FORTUNE: "Samsung's stock doesn't trade on US exchanges," writes the Bespoke Investment Group, "so hardly anyone here even looks at the stock."
Well, Bespoke did, and it produced the 10-year (above) and one-year chart (below). They show that over the long run, Apple (AAPL), as Bespoke put it, "crushed" Samsung.
Lately, however, not...

Funds that were buying one and shorting the other are reportedly unwinding their trades
FORTUNE -- This was news to me.

"The trade worked quite well until about one week ago,"...

BTIG's Walter Piecyk rates Apple a "buy" for all the wrong reasons
FORTUNE -- Apple's (AAPL) share price popped $3.50 in pre-market trading shortly after 7:50 a.m. Thursday. That was just about when -- to the minute -- BTIG's Walter Piecyk e-mailed clients a note upgrading the stock from "neutral" to "buy" for reasons that are so perverse only Piecyk's words can...

FORTUNE -- Ben Bajarin's "reality distortion" theory about why Wall Street doesn't get Apple (AAPL) -- first published in Time Magazine's Techland last week -- has been widely picked up by numerous Apple watchers (including this one). But nobody has had more fun with it than Daniel Eran Dilger, a regular...

For Apple, no good deed goes unpunished
FORTUNE -- As Tim Cook promised last fall, Apple (AAPL) has been working hard behind the scenes to improve its much-maligned iOS Maps app -- the one that famously replaced Google (GOOG) Maps.
On Tuesday, The Loop's Jim Dalrymple rattled off some of the improvements that Apple has made, including a list of cities (from Boston...
