MacBook (Early 2008), MacBook Pro (Early 2008): Selections in Optional Installs may not show as selected when reinstalling from DVD

With some Mac OS X v10.5 installation DVDs supplied with MacBook (Early 2008) and MacBook Pro (Early 2008) computers, if you are reinstalling an application via Optional Installs, the checkmark that indicates your selection may not appear. Optional Installs allows you to restore applications that were preinstalled on your hard drive such as Address Book, iCal, iChat, iTunes, Mail, Safari, X11, iPod Support, Additional Fonts, Language Translations, and printer drivers.
