App Wednesday: Track 8 Review

Welcome to App Wednesday! Each Wednesday I will review an App for the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Mac and today's app is Track 8. Track 8 is a music app that borrows from Microsoft's Metro style UI, at the moment the app is only available for the iPad. Your Music collection is displayed in the standard tile view organised into Albums, Artists and Playlists. The animation is nice and smooth when switching between the various categories and whilst browsing albums or tracks. When you want to play a song or album you'll be displayed with the album artwork and a picture of the artist will be set as the background wallpaper. All the usual controls for playing back your music are present and if you exit out of the current track that is being played it is easily displayed at the bottom of the screen whilst you navigate through the app. There is also a built in Search function which only searches individual tracks at the moment. There are a few Settings mainly connected to the overall look and appearance of the app, things such as background wallpaper can be selected as well as options for turning of the artist display option. Overall a decent Music app that will appeal to anyone who likes the Metro style UI or if your looking for something more visually impressive than the standard Music app that comes with the iPad. Track 8 is £1.49/$1.99 and is available for the iPad. It can be downloaded here: itunes.apple.com Social Links: Follow me on Twitter: www.twitter.com Like me on ...
