The catch, of course, is that the pricing of the phone has not been released by Cricket; however, Apple Inc. did state the phone would be the same price as predecessor: $499.
Phil Schiller, Apple’s Vice President of Marketing, called the phone “an absolute jewel.” It has new features such as an HD camera in the front and back of the phone, which will allow users to take clearer pictures and make more vivid videos.
The phone also has wireless 4G connection and this makes it a viable option for many users because it will be less likely to have no service or lose the connection while talking on the phone.
Another feature that the phone offers is a wider screen. This will make viewing videos or browsing the internet an easier and less straining activity on those who choose to buy the phone. According to Schiller, this model is two times faster than the iPhone 4 due to its new A6 technical processor.
There is also another catch for this phone. It has a smaller dock to connect and charge it. The phone will not connect to older docks. Thus customers will have to buy a new dock just for the phone and a new wire to connect it and charge it.
There is no word yet on other companies that will join Cricket Wireless in their inclusion of iPhone 5 as part of their no-contract deals.
Cricket Inc is also known as Cricket Wireless and it is a subdivision of Leap Wireless. It is a company that gives customers the ability to have a phone without a binding contract, since they pay from month to month.
