Raised by my mother in a single parent household and was first introduced to rap when I was 8 years old. Due to my mothers strict Christian views at the time, I was only able to listen to Christian rap. The artists that influenced me most at that time were Cross Movement, Grits, and John Reuben, just to name a few. When in middle school I used to get bullied a lot. My mother told me to keep a journal in order to vent my frustrations. Eventually that daily journal became daily poetry. It wasn't until the 6th grade when I wrote my first rap verse. My friends gave me the rap name D-Murder at that time. Between the time span from middle school to high school I would write a lot of poetry but only a few raps here and there. When I attended The Ohio State University I was introduced to my good friend KO aka Kizzo, who is also a rapper. Since that year in 2008 of our first meeting, we have been making music for the past 5 years. Over that time span I focused on perfecting my craft and talent. I started to read a lot of books because I realized the more vocabulary I knew the better I could put rap verses together without using curse words and illiterate words as fill-ins <b>...</b> |
