ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (February 9, 2016) – As players continue to change in non-traditional war theatres, strategic shifts in military spending are taking place as the United States prepares for the ever increasing “power competition.” Currently the DoD discretionary budget request for fiscal year 2017 stands at USD582.7 billion. And while the base budget is increasing and the Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) holding steady, this number could change depending upon conditions in theatre and the needs of combatant commanders, said IHS Inc.
