Importing movies

Q: I have over a hundred movies stored on an external hard drive and have been unable to import any of them into my iTunes library. How do I do this?

This correspondent didn’t say which formats the videos are in, but it’s likely that there in a format that iTunes doesn’t support. iTunes only accepts videos in the H.264 and MPEG-4 formats, in files with the .m4v, .mp4, and .mov extensions.
